This is the beginning (Collaboration, Reflection) #12

I remember messaging Sr. Sharifah right after class how deeply heartwarming I felt when she shared to us about Tasbih Fatimah. It was a recommendation from Rasulullah to help Fatimah feel more energetic and stronger when she complained how tiring housework is. The practice is to recite Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahuakbar 33 times.  This was something I particularly practiced when I was a high school students. It was a strange feeling once I realized I do not know why I forget and completely left the practice. It inspired me to be more istiqamah in my own personal practice. I was also learnt and reflected a lot during those sessions with the class. This again, could by far, be my facourite usrah ever.  I will surely miss the sharings we had. Honestly, it does feel like a privilege to attend usrah willingly.  May we be among those that Allah protect and guide their faith to jannah.  This is why in the class session, I shared two most important take-away from...

My sharing session for Usrah Budi 4 #11

Image
Assalamualaikum w.b.t  It has been a while. I am back here writing for my last Usrah Budi class, Usrah Budi 4. I am so grateful that I was blessed with a naqibah who is very proactive and inspired in every of our session. Sr. Sharifah always take part in discussions and sharings wholeheartedly and I am in awe of how she maintains that till the end. It truly shows how she takes the amanah as a naqibah seriously and is respectful as well as appreciative of others' contribution in class.  I honestly believe that this could be my first time actually enjoying online usrah sessions. The initiative was indeed splendid. Every week 5 sisters will share on any sirah and another 5 on current matters. At first, I was reluctant to share anything because I have not been reading new material for a while. A day before the last class, Sr. Sharifah personally messaged me and ask if I was okay to give any sharing and even insisted that it was okay if it was just a 1 minute sharing.  I...

Virtual Usrah Budi Project #10

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.   Ah, it is the last day of 2020 and everyone is super busy completing their assignments and preparing for exams! I have several assignments due today and alhamdulillah, although a lot were done on the last minute they were all managed to be completed before the deadline.      Talking about the title, it was fun that our usrah sessions were done online through Google meet this semester. Unfortunately, I came into class quite late because I was not in the Whatsapp group on time..so, I missed quite a lot.      However, I really liked how sweet and caring our naqibah was throughout the whole semester. She seems like the person anyone can talk to and would be able to empathize with you straight away! :)    For this semester, luckily, I was able to form a group with my friends! We decided to do on something relatively close to our daily lives for our Community Engagement project that is...How to Stay Fit & Healthy ...

Cosplaying (but not really) the Muslimah Way #9

Salam friends, ever since the Controlled Movement Order started I have been on the Tik Tok App A LOT . And for a while, I was enjoying all the outfit ideas on Fashion Tik Tok. Since we have been staying at home, I felt like I miss dressing up.  Along the quarantine, I was inspired to create an outfit that could fit the Shari'ah. Here's the catch, everything is inspired by anime characters! Anime that was chosen is..... SAILOR MOON !!!  First outfit:       I obviously tried my best to match Sailor Moon's outfit but I didnt have a wide, flowy black skirt. Thus, I opted for this pair of wide pants I got from Uniqlo.       The pants are actually ankle length so it would only be right to match them with my ankle-length boots . I think my black ones are the best for this colour combination.       I also did not have that many of pink tops so this was the only one that I think could be the closest t...

My Usrah Budi sessions this semester #8

Image
Salam and hey!  Continuing on from my last post.... Due to the pandemic, we still have to attend our classes online and there were various ways done by other lecturers for it. Some do pre-recorded videos, some do online classes and record them and many other ways.  At first, I was hoping for our usrah budi sessions to be virtual classes but the internet connection for a lot of us was unhelpful.  I did not expect that our sessions through the Whatsapp would actually turn out better than I expected.  I was able to get involved in the session better and share my ideas more thoroughly too.  However, I did not really like how our attendance was taken. I was pretty sad when my name was not included in the list of attendance after I have already wrote it in. *lol* Anyways, the usrah budi sessions we had was truly helpful. It gave me a sense of re-connection to my deen which I feel like it was long needed.  I was also able to recall a lot of the things I used to le...

Where have I been? #7

Image
Assalamualaikum w.b.t.      Hey everyone! To be completely honest, this blog is dedicated entirely to my university's usrah budi program. So, technically, I have been waiting for the next semester to come. But you must be wondering, why was it so late? Well, something life changing happened to me last year so I could not continue my semester that should have been last year. This could have been my fourth semester but in the end, Allah has better plans for me. It's pretty sad but I am still struggling to get along through this semester. I was so sad because this semester feels like I am starting a completely new university life because I no longer can be somewhat dependable to my friends because they are going further and further apart from me. Making friends....is hard. It truly is. And to be honest, it felt truly lonely. However, I am grateful to still have Usrah Budi this year. My first session with the usrah was pretty bad because of the internet stability was not well...

My first time teaching the Qur'an #6

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Assalamualaikum w.b.t. Have you guys ever have super random encounters? And from those encounters, while you’re casually catching up with each other’s stories…you suddenly join in something so randomly. That is how my friendship is like with these two people. Especially Fatina, which I think this is not our first random approach. I think this happens since we rarely see each other and although we are taking the same course, we have different classes and paths. One day, I was just casually waiting for my food at the cafeteria until I sat down with Izzati who was with Fatina as well at that time. We were discussing things and right after I asked where were they going (because they seemed all dressed up and ready for something) , Izzati told Fatina if I could join them. Both Fatina and Izzati was waiting for a brother to pick them up. That brother is an alumni of the Angkatan Belia Islam of IIUM and Fatina is an a...
