Fit and Healthy during Ramadan #3

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Hey friends! As you can see above, it is a poster of a yoga challenge that Sister Musfirah and I conducted last year, in 2018, in conjunction with the month of Ramadan. Our Instagram challenge was open to everyone of all race, gender and even religion. To our surprise, our challenge was joined by many beautiful souls from Malaysia, Indonesia, America, Norway and more.

It was truly an exciting experience for me although all the postings and sharing were done online. You can still check out our informative postings by searching the hashtag #YogisReflectRamadan . Will there be a part 2? I'm not sure.

I see that now Sister Musfirah has a specially designed program for Ramadan which you can easily follow up through her Instagram for more deets! And I? I'll be sitting for my final examination this Ramadan. So yeah...we'll see how :p

The sponsors were really generous, may Allah bless them all. We could not have done this without our sponsors. I would like to thank Sister Musfirah again as she was the one who lead all of this. I could not have continued with this idea without her.

In the challenge, we exposed to our participants with some of the movements in solaah. That included the standing position, ruku', sujud and as well as tahiyat awal and akhir. There were also yoga poses that can help improve one's digestion and insha Allah, for a better fasting experience.

Not only that, for each day, the participants were given some matters to reflect on. Some of it was their experience in Ramadan, the type of books they were reading on and many more.

Without this challenge, I think I would not have known that eventhough we are Muslims...we are all different. From our appearances to our culture. It was truly an eye opener for me. Other than that, it reminded me that some of us also have different madhhab thus explaining some of the movements varied.

We also had participants that were not even Muslims. My heart was full of joy when they announced their participation. I never felt so united and harmony at that time.

I hope that although this challenge was just a short one, but it could educate the world even just a few; about fasting and Ramadan, especially Islam.

Thank you Allah for this opportunity and I thank all to those who supported us whether directly or indirectly.

My dearest salam to you,
Fatimah.
